    The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY) is excited to announce the 40 Under 40 for 2021.  Forty individuals under 40 years old from the promotional products industry were carefully selected from nominations received. The chosen individuals represent the best and brightest.

    The 40 Under 40 Winners will be among the honorees at the Holiday Party and Annual Awards Celebration being held on December 8, 2021 at Glen Island Harbour Club, New Rochelle, NY.

    Call for SAAGNY Nominations - Class of 2023

    The nomination process is a vital step in ensuring the future success of our organization. Your participation in this process will help to ensure that SAAGNY's leadership will maintain its strong representation of our members.  SAAGNY members will elect four representatives at the Annual Meeting which will be held in-person at the SAAGNY Fall Show, Tuesday, September 14, 10:00 a.m. at the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors, beginning January 1, 2022 and concluding December 31, 2023.  You can step up yourself or suggest another potential leader with whom you are acquainted and who you believe will make a contribution. The form below enables you to suggest a candidate.  A resume must be submitted for each nomination.

    The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY) has grown to be the largest regional Promotional Products association in the country. Our growth would not have been possible without the visionary planning and untiring efforts of a few outstanding leaders.

    The SAAGNY Hall of Fame recognizes the extraordinary achievements of these leaders who have contributed to our success. This is your opportunity to help choose the next recipient of this prestigious honor. When making your selection, please keep in mind the criteria outlined in the application below:

    SAAGNY Pioneers

    SAAGNY Pioneers are defined as individuals previously employed by member companies who are no longer active in our region or business and served AMASS or SAAGNY prior to 1989.  Pioneers will be voted on via a separate nomination from the regular Hall of Fame.  Anyone that served SAAGNY from 1989 and prior will be considered a potential Pioneer Club inductee. 

    SAAGNY Contemporaries

    SAAGNY Contemporaries are defined as current or past members who have volunteered with SAAGNY.

    The nominee shall have made significant and lasting contributions to SAAGNY and the Promotional Products industry and have served on a committee or on the Board of Directors of SAAGNY.  To be eligible, the nominee must have served as a committee or board volunteer and:

    • Has not served on the SAAGNY Board of Directors for a minimum of three (3) years before nomination to the Hall of Fame; or
    • Continues to serve on the Board of Directors but has an aggregate of 10 years’ volunteer service to SAAGNY as a committee or board member prior to nomination to the Hall of Fame
    • Members of the Hall of Fame Committee are not eligible for nomination

    The Hall of Fame Committee will review all nominations and determine which category the nominee qualifies for.  Please return the nomination form and required items no later than Friday, August 6, 2021.  If you have any questions, please call the SAAGNY office or email Donna-Jean Plante (donna-jean@saagny.org).

    The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY) is pleased to announce Promotions East is back! This premier East Coast experience will be held October 16–19, 2022 at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. https://www.caesars.com/harrahs-ac/hotel). Stay tuned for some virtual sneak peaks coming Fall 2021 as well as at our three Fall Shows.

    Rachel Levin, CAS, SAAGNY President, noted, “As the world opens back up, people are interacting with each other differently, not only in the events industry but within society as a whole. As a result, in-person events are reemerging in new ways and we’re pleased to incorporate this shift into Promotions East 2022. The experience will be like no other! We have a solid committee, a dedicated board, an incredible executive director, and multiple partners that are integral to putting our vision to paper.”

    The stage is set in 2022 for several days of a redesigned, reimagined, and renewed show. SAAGNY is looking forward to providing what industry attendees and exhibitors have come to expect– exceptional education, networking, and ideas for business growth. SAAGNY is planning an experiential component to increase value for ALL attendees. 

    Promotions East Committee Chair and SAAGNY Vice President, Michael Reisbaum, commented, “In 2022, the Promo Industry deserves an event unlike anything we’ve ever seen, and SAAGNY and the Promotions East Committee are dedicated to providing just that. A completely refurbished and updated event locale, new social and networking opportunities, innovative and creative ways to access exhibitors and attendees, and dynamic and productive education will be the hallmarks of Promotions East 2022.”

     “Back to normal is boring!” noted Promotions East Committee Member Charity Gibson, Peerless. “We're changing things up and while it's a little scary, it's necessary and worthwhile. The venue, the education, the events – all world class. It's been an honor to be on the planning committee for this event. There is no doubt that Promotions East 2022 is going to be a total game-changer.”

    Another Committee Member, Meg Erber, S & S Activewear, stated, “We have been working behind the scenes to orchestrate a renovated show and a modernized EXPERIENCE. We are taking this show to a new, inclusive venue with engaging experiences that say, ‘We are back and we are intentional!’”

    Industry veteran Joel Shaffer, MAS, commented, “As a veteran of 50 years of SAAGNY shows, from the Catskills to Atlantic City, the future of SAAGNY's Promotions East holds great promise. I look forward to the fusion of the social atmosphere we had at the Concord with the mega professional shows SAAGNY built in AC over the past 20 years. The new Promotions East will blend the current world of technology with old-world relationship building on the show floor and in the after-hours social events.  SAAGNY will once again produce the greatest show on the East Coast.”

    Finally, Eric Levin, alphabroder/Prime, remarked, “I have spoken to many suppliers and distributors who are so eager for this event. The timing couldn’t be better to see what’s new as we go into the holiday gift season.”

    SAAGNY recently held a logo contest and asked the Promo Community to submit logos for Promotions East. With more than 50 creative submissions, it was a challenging task for the Promotions East Committee and SAAGNY Board to select the winning submission from Joyce Ponton, HALO Branded Solutions. Her design was chosen for the attention to detail and tag line – Educate, Connect, and Explore.

    SAAGNY’s 40 Under Forty is a celebration of young promotional products professionals in the SAAGNY community. The process of selecting SAAGNY’s 40 Under Forty begins with nominations.

    SAAGNY’s 40 Under Forty honor is driven by nomination information that’s as complete and thorough as possible so our judges can see the whole picture of the person being nominated. We encourage the nominee to be involved in the nomination process so that all pertinent information is provided and facts are accurate. Self-nominations are encouraged. 

    Before submitting a nomination, please ensure the nominee meets the following criteria: 

    • Nominees must be 39 years or younger (born AFTER Dec. 31, 1981).
    • Nominees must spend the majority of their work time in the Promotional Products Industry.

    Being named a recipient of a SAAGNY’s 40 Under Forty brings great benefits and also carries some obligations. Among the benefits:

    • You will be publicly recognized as an exceptional leader through published profiles in SAAGNY Life and SAAGNY’s social media channels, email newsletters, and advertising
    • You will be celebrated at the Annual Awards Celebration along with your fellow recipients and other Award recipients
    • You will be invited to attend private, invitation-only networking events to foster a strong bond between recipients. 

     Being named a SAAGNY’s 40 Under Forty recipient also carries some obligations. Among those are the following: 

    • ·       An obligation to stay connected to fellow recipients and promote the awards program in its continuing effort to recognize business excellence, expertise and value of giving back to the SAAGNY community.
